Sushi!!!

Oh, how I love it! I don't get to eat it that often but I love love love sushi! I even found a decent place here in Michigan. Granted it isn't as cheap as Hawaii but it's good. I have my favorites and I got all three of them tonight.
In the top left corner is a Volcano roll, then the MSU roll with crab salad on top, and the smaller roll is spicy tuna. Doesn't it look fabulous!  Mmm...Yummy! I'm full but it still looks good! I used a coupon at JcPenny last night and got a new top for $3.00. Good deal yes? Here it is!
Fun and something different from the rest of my wardrobe. Now to lose weight before I buy a bunch more clothes so I have a real reason and don't need even more clothes. Sigh...such a process!

Quote of the day

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.  ~Victor Frankl
There isn't much I can say to expand on this quote. I believe sometimes the only we option we have is to look within ourselves at our problems, our issues and make changes to help change where we are at. It isn't easy but the results are great.

Day 4!

Day 4 of no pop in the morning for me! So far so good! The test will be tomorrow morning when I go to the store for my co-worker's and I Friday ritual, real pop or non diet. I will be purchasing a diet pop for her and Izze natural soda for me. Well that's the plan for now at least. No I will stick to it! I can't quit now! I've also gone walking twice this week before work and my legs are SORE! I have the Reebock EasyTones and I am feeling it! No pain, no gain though. I want to lose weight and be healthy. I want to sleep better and feel better overall. That is the plan and I am sticking to it! That's all I have for now, no other inspirations or exciting news. I might have an idea for a craft but we shall have to see about that later. All I have left is a picture of me, in a massive hat. This was taken on my birthday right before Easter when all the Easter "bonnets" were out. (If you haven't see Judy Garland in Easter Parade not sure if you will get that) It was a good day.

L. O. V. E.

Love, l.o.v.e. I really feel loved right now. I have so many people close to me that love me a lot and unconditionally. They care and will give opinions but they respect me and support me with whatever I do. It means a lot and has really touched me. I've obviously known I was loved before but certain things have really pointed it out to me recently. I had two people tell me they were glad I hadn't made a specific decision (it would have been beyond stupid if I had) but also tell me they would have understood if I had. First, I felt so stinkin' proud of myself for not making a stupid decision. Secondly, I felt so loved and blessed that I was so completely loved. For awhile I forgot about how much I was loved but I remember now and don't plan on forgetting again.

I am blessed and loved completely for who I am. It's a beautiful, wonderful, and marvelous feeling. Why don't you try sharing it around yourself?

Ain't that the truth

We have a TV and VCR/DVD player in our nursery at church. We have a wide variety of ages so we play movies almost the entire time. We have a few Veggie Tales movies and one in particular stands out. It's just all of their silly songs and towards the end they say they have to fill some time so they sing from a Chinese take out menu. It cracks me up every time. (Ya I know maybe a little lame but you should seriously listen to it before you judge!)  They break a fortune cookie during the song and the fortune says "Beware of grape with wooden mallet." and they reply "ain't that the truth."
I LOVE that phrase. Ain't that the truth. It just covers so much. My sister and I are always saying it to each other. (Please note you must say it in the same type of voice as the veggie does on the tape) How many times in a day are there things where all you can say is "Ain't that the truth." Things happen, people are people, and you can't get away from the truth. Some days things just suck. Ain't that the truth? Other days you can just laugh at how ridiculous things are and say ain't that the truth.

So today whatever is going on just remember, "Ain't that the truth."

Psst!! If you want to know what song I'm talking about go here!!

A Quote for Monday

"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."

I'm not sure who said this but I like it. It's nice to hear and see that an imperfection can be beautiful. I can be a little bit of a perfectionist. If I have an idea how something should look and it doesn't end up that way I get annoyed. The past few weeks I've been a little harsh on myself for my imperfections, mostly with the same old one that everyone gets harsh with. Weight. (Isn't it like a dirty word?)  What I see is imperfect and while I know no one is perfect I don't see what I want or think I should. This quote was a nice reminder that my imperfections are beautiful and that even my craziness is good.

Don't be your own worst critic. Remember your imperfections (usually so called imperfections) are beauty.

Cute as a Button?

Once again I found a project I wanted to do and completed it before finishing any of my previous projects. Oh well...I had fun! And I must say my other projects are a little intense! This project took me 2 dvrd' episodes of NCIS to finish. (I love me some NCIS) I got the idea from a feature email I get almost every day. It is all crafty or small business items from what I can tell. (If you are interested check out Very Jane) Now for what I made. Are you ready? Button earrings!!!
They are little small for what I normally wear but I fell in love when I saw them. The buttons are from Joann Fabrics. They cost me $2.99 for a pack of 75. There were different color combinations but these screamed summer to me. The buttons are 6mm but that is not clearly labeled on the package I had seen them online so I knew what I was looking for. I got the earring findings at Michael's. The studs came in a pack of 60 and the backs came separately. All together I paid about $6.00 for everything and made 60 earrings. I am going to use them for myself and as gifts. Fun, simple, and cute!
