My "fake" Wish list

Do you have a "fake" wish list? Let me explain. A "fake" wish list is that list of things you see and love but know you will probably never get them. Things that are just too expensive for your piece of mind, just a picture on the Internet you will probably never really find, or just things that if you do eventually get it won't be for quite a few years.

Well, if you don't have a list like this don't worry I do and I plan to share some of it today. Now mind you this isn't a complete list and honestly a lot of these things are new and via my pinterest addiction. So here it goes in no particular order!

Photo via Shabby Apple

I love purses. I mean really love them. I would spend tons of money on them if my mother hadn't raised me to not spend too much money on just one item. Even with that I still spend more on a purse than she would ever dream of. Anyways, I think this is a totally fun and casual purse. It looks blue in this photo, which I'm really into light blue right now, but on the website they only offer olive and cream. For only $55 I would consider purchasing this purse if I could touch it first. I don't have photos but other purses on my list are from Coach or Dooney & Burke. Classic and fun. They make me drool...

I'm just now getting into shoes and heels. Growing up on an island where everyone is more on the short side you try not to add more to your own 5 feet 9 inches than there already is. But since I live in Michigan now I'm a normal size and it's rather fun! But back to shoes, I love these. Polka dots are so awesome and fun and the pop of green is fabulous. If I had them I don't know if I would ever find something to wear them with. I would try very hard but I feel it would be difficult. I couldn't find the exact post these shoes came from in the blog but I didn't do a word search. Sigh...they are so cute!

Photo via moda.com

Isn't this the most gorgeous dress you have ever seen? Of course being on moda I will never truly find where it's from or who made it. But I can look at it and wish I was talented enough to make something like this. I'm not even sure if this would look good on me but I love it. I just imagine wearing it at a holiday party or too a wedding were people actually dress up. Or to a play. Even in any other color this dress would be just as gorgeous. If anyone is a whiz at sewing and wants to make this for me for cost of supplies and a minimal fee let me know!!!!

Photo via google

English bulldogs are apparently the new thing or maybe I'm just only hearing about it now. Either way English bulldog puppies are just waaay too adorable. All the wrinkles and the littleness. MMMM!! Just makes me want to grab them in a big hug! Now this I want later but only if they are always this cute. Anyone know?

Photo via facebook

No seriously, that is what it said on pinterest. The photo is from facebook.com. I want one of these in my home. I want one now but then I would have no where for my clothes. This would be a great little away place to read and keep all your books. I would love to see kids in there reading.

And because I'm loving Christmas decorations right now I had to have a picture of the type of tree I might want someday. I love all the bright colors on this tree. Fun, bright, colorful, and full of Christmas cheer. You can't ask for more at Christmas. The only thing I can't see are the lights and I must have lights on my tree.

And that are just a few things on my "fake" wish list. They are in no particular order. Just things I fancy right now. Hope you enjoyed the list and feel free to comment about something that might be on your own list!

Cough Cough COUGH

This blogger is sick. Coughing and hacking is all I've been doing. I even stayed home from work today. The thought did cross my mind that hey, I could do some crafting or cleaning since I'm home. Nope, nada, I laid around and did nothing. I feel better but not amazing. Now I'm just laying around hoping this medicine will finally work and stop me from coughing and watching Eloise at Christmastime.
I absolutely love this movie. Not the cartoon the one starring Julie Andrews and Sofia Vassilieva, it is just too cute even if she is a little terror.

Here's hoping no more coughing next time around! Until then bring on the holiday movies!

A Double Hitter of Awesomeness

I thought long and hard about what the title of this post should be and I think I finally got it. It's got a nice ring to it don't it. This past weekend I took some pictures for my friend and her family. It was fun. I am seriously in love with this park and will be going again. It had the most amazing bridge.... Anyways, meet Anne.
I know I've mentioned her before but now you are officially hearing about her and she officially has her own blog post. I met Anne 2 years ago when I started working at the Credit Union. We hit it off almost immediately and it's straight up awesomeness since then. Anne has taught me to let go and laugh no matter what crazy thing is going on. She has taught that no matter what anyone says or what happens at the end of the day still say "Ya, I rock." or in our case it's always "We rock." (And really we do. trust me)  The best talks, the worst inside jokes, the laughter at inappropriate and inopportune times, eating each others feelings and so much more. It has always been interesting to say the least. We act like utter fools and know we completely rock that. The photo shoot was tons of fun. I got some great pictures of her family and her fiance even snapped a couple of us.

Don't they look fabulous. That was taken on the bridge. Love the bridge.

Then it was our mini photo shoot. First one is nice....

Then Anne had to ponder....we do ponder quite a bit.

And then we had to crack up at what she was pondering. Best picture ever. Especially since we were laughing about sucking in our stomachs.

Then one last self picture before we left the park I'm in love with.

To go to a baseball field, which Anne loves, hence the double hitter title.

All in all...it is good times when we hang out. If nothing else we can laugh at ourselves.

Peace out!!!

How observant are you

My parents are visiting this week. And as we (parents, sister, brother in-law, and I) were all sitting around the dinner table we were talking about different things that have happened in the past year that I have completely missed and how much of a non morning person I am. Within this conversation my brother in law mentioned someone (a guy) had called him at 5am this morning saying they were coming to our house to make themselves breakfast. My brother in law of course said NO! even though the guy insisted he would be quite. And this caused me to comment on how I would react to someone not in our family being in the kitchen when I stumbled/fell down the stair this morning. First I said I would have woken the entire neighbor hood until I really thought about it. Then through laughing so hard I couldn't speak, tears rolling down my cheeks, and my sister being the only one who could understand what I was saying or trying to say, I said how I really would react.

Here is how I would react if I came down the stairs at any time in the morning to a virtual stranger in the kitchen or any part of the house.

I would not even realize it until I was in the bathroom either on the toilet or brushing my teeth and then I would have absolutely no idea what to do. I would be freaking out in the bathroom without a phone or way to get a hold of my brother in law or sister. I wouldn't be coming out that bathroom. I have a major lacking in the observation area and slow reaction time. I would be the person to open the closet totally not click that someone is hiding in there until after I shut the door. Yep, that's me!

And this is the picture I think best fits this story. I couldn't find a cheesy smile photo. My sister was also in the photo doing something crazy. Photo taking skills courtesy of my brother in law.

Thought provoking thoughts

Tonight at small groups I received some thought provoking thoughts. I know that sounds funny and I kinda mean it to be funny but we will get serious soon. Back to small groups.

I really think a lot of times as Christians we forget that the Bible, sermons, God's word, and life are supposed to make us think. There are things meant to move us and become "huh" moments. I know I forget that all the time personally. I get lost in my regular day by day moments or within my own spirituality. We (Christians) become Pharisaical and focus on our actions, our checklist.

Now we are really back at small groups. We have been talking about Paul and the Romans road. Tonight was specifically about Paul's last days in prison and his last letter to Timothy. It was some good stuff. At the end of our discussion the question was "Think about how long you have been saved. Are you spiritually at where you thought you would be 5/6 years ago? Do you want to be the same spiritually in another 20 years? Or do you want to grow, change, move, learn, and breathe God? Think about it."

All I can say is WOW. I have never thought about it that way and that's sad for someone who grew up in church and has been saved for awhile. To make things even more sad I don't like looking back and thinking that way. It isn't great and not really good. My beliefs, views, and standards have altered and changed from 5/6 years ago so I know that makes a difference but not by much.

What I do know is that I don't want to look back again and be the same. I would hate to look back 5 years  to when I was 18 and realize I haven't matured, grown, or changed. I think everyone feels that way. But why do we let the things that matter just drift on.

How's that for thought provoking?

Ya know what I hate

I hate stairs. All of them. There is not one set of stairs that I like or want to walk on. I'm always tripping on them or falling (like today)  and I'm rather over it. I try to be careful. I watch what I'm doing and I don't know what happens.

Therefore. I. HATE. stairs.

That's all. Have a great Saturday.

Quote of the day

Oh...how I needed this quote this week with most every area of my life. I wish I know who had said it. If you haven't noticed a lot of my quotes don't have an author's name. I get them from all over so I'm not always sure. If you know though feel free to inform me!

And it's not only a quote of the day it's a picture of me too!
I am loving my instagram app on my iPhone! Which is all these new cool effects pictures! Speaking of iPhone's I can upgrade to a new one next month! Yaaay!!!! Major celebration time! And then my instagram will work even better! The good news just keeps rolling in!

I have an Addiction

Hello, my name is Elizabeth and I have an addiction to chapstick and/or lip gloss.

I must must must always have one of these on my lips. I can't even be downstairs in my own house without a chapstick in my pocket. I am always buying new chapstick's and can't even tell you how many I have in my purse. It probably dries my lips out more than helps but it's been started and I can't stop. One day I may find the perfect and my favorite chapstick, but I'm still searching. But trust me, I will tell you when I find it!

Hair Fiasco 101

Here is your step by step instructions on how to handle things when you walk out of a salon with your hair looking like this.
Please notice the neon red highlights that were NOT what I requested

1rst  You must have someone you can call immediately! As soon as you get in the car to drive to Walmart to pick out a box color. Someone like my sister, who I called, that will listen as you sob out "I hate it! I look like a wannabe goth kid!" (Please note I usually NEVER cry over my hair! ever) Someone who says  "It can't be that bad." And when you sob again insisting that it is THAT bad says okay if you aren't going to have HER (the one who messed it up) fix it we can do a box color.

2nd   You must try to stay calm and NOT hate every single person in Walmart with you. You know, the ones who block the lanes, walk really really slow, or take up an entire aisle, or those other people you are just miffed at because you are sooo upset about your HORRID hair color.

3rd   You must have friends who you can text. One you can just vent at who just says it can't be that bad. You can make it work and be encouraging while you are having a mini break down. Another who knows a lot about dyeing hair and can give you tips.

4th  You must have another person, preferably the same person as step one, actually agree with you about how horrible your hair really is and that yes it does look like a wannabe goth kid. Like, my sister who walked in the house saw my hair grimaced and said, "Oh." Exactly! Oh....

5th   And lastly, if you aren't going to trust any single one of the stylists in the salon you were just in because you are that upset you have to figure out how to fix it yourself. Talk to your friend who knows about dyeing (and I now somewhat fit into that category), use google, and find the box color dark enough to cover neon red enough to be passable. Like this....

You can still see the red but it is far far better than neon.

So there you have it, hair fiasco 101. Or at least this is how I handled my hair fiasco.  You may have/or will handle yours differently. But I do hope you never have a hair fiasco! Even though then we could relate and all that jazz! Just to add to my story a little I asked for dark brown highlights. This color was supposed to be brown with a hint of red. I was never asked if I liked the color once my hair was washed, my hair was barely cut, and it was not styled. Needless to say I will not be going back.

The color I covered it with is Loreal iced chocolate and I'm just starting to get used to having my hair so dark. Last night was the first time I looked in the mirror without doing a double take. lol

Quote of the Day

"It's ok, we were brainwashed but we're better now."
-By me during a conversation with my sister and brother in-law

Don't you just wish you knew what we were talking about? Or maybe you just understand and are already rolling on the floor laughing.

Money, Money, Money

This is how I feel about money at the moment. That I've had to break my piggy bank and must get five new ones! The reason behind all this, I got into a car accident that was my fault essentially. I think I can blame it on the other driver and some other things but we won't get into that. With that comes a deductible since my car cracked and their car had a scratch. (Really?! how does that happen?!) My piggy bank is sad, I am sad and now slightly worried about money. Truth time, I have never been that great at saving money. I can always find something I "should" buy. (don't we all)

But this incident made me realize I need to do better. I need to have savings and watch how I am spending my money. I don't think I do horrible but I most definitely could do better. With that will come some sacrifices I have to make and some brain storming but it's necessary. I am trying to find more ways to save and I am open to any ideas! I have been thinking about a second job for a little while but I don't know what to do. I don't think I could do retail again. Too much drama and stress after my normal stress filled day time position. I would love to be able to babysit again and earn money that way but I don't have a good clientele here. I'm open to ideas here as well!! Help a girl out!

Hope everyone has a saving filled weekend!!

Complain, Whine, Complain

This is just for me today. I have been the biggest complainer, whiner, or whatever else you want to call it this week. Remember my whole "be positive" part of my 2011 plan, ya, don't know where that went! Now mind you I can give you some pretty darn good excuses and reasons why I'm complaining but in the end they are still just excuses. I haven't looked at any positives this week. I let circumstances and my emotions take me down and looking back it was basically pathetic.

Of course I didn't think it was pathetic until the end of the week, mainly last night after our ladies Bible study. My sister teaches it and we are going through the fruit of the spirit. Last night we went over Faith and surprisingly complaining came up. If you can imagine I felt a little ridiculous but realized it's true. Complaining, worrying, whining, it all says no faith. Not just faith in God, but in yourself, those around you, and what you believe. I tried being more positive today and not focusing and what was frustrating me, had faith that God would work it out and that I could handle what was given. Amazingly enough I had a much much better day. So, if everything is going wrong and you are having the most miserable day of your life have some faith, be positive, and see the difference.

Stop complaining! Have faith!

I like this month!

I know I'm slacking on posts! I'm such a horrible blogger! I do have excuses though. Wanna hear them? It's been a busy month. I've been going through things in my room, getting out more, practicing on Saturdays with the praise band, spending time with family, and planning. So I do have reasons but I will admit they aren't the greatest. I've been meaning to share my newest project but obviously have yet to do so. I will before the week is out though! Promise!

I really do like this month though. Besides the fact that my birthday is this month it's just been good. I feel good, I'm happy and things are happening. Not to toot my own horn but I am really proud of myself. I think I have kicked butt when I could have just laid around and done nothing feeling blah. It's a nice feeling let me tell you. I'm also excited about this month because I get to go horse back riding for my birthday. (hence the horse picture) I haven't been on a horse in oh....6 years but I'm still excited. I took lessons in junior high and always tried to get on trail rides after the lessons stopped. April is a nice month all around. Don't you agree?

Let's be inspired!

I haven't updated my list of goals and plans for 2011 on here in awhile. I am going to post my list and put under them what I have done to accomplish them, if at all. I am working at getting inspiration to get these things done and make some of them habits. I must admit I haven't been doing well so far. Feel free to help inspire me with any of these!

Be healthier
-I am trying to cut out pop and eat more veggies.
Lose weight
-I haven't been consistent. I need to find a better time to work out.
Be more positive
-I have my good days and my bad days. I don't think I'm doing as well as I could considering events that have happened. I will overcome though!
Read more non-fiction.
-Nada, nothing, nope, not yet, fail. I have too much fiction around!
Expand lotion making
-I have been looking up ingredients and recipes to see what would be best. I hope to order things this month.
Brush up math skills.
  -Not yet.
Write a short story.
-I'm not sure how to go about this yet. I might try to do this with someone.
Expand cooking skills.
-I have been helping cook more and asking more questions.  I definitely do well at the looking up recipe part!
Take a mini road trip.
-I was in the car when we drove to Texas, does that count? I have some plans with friends in the works.
Redecorate my room.
-This went from decorate to redecorate. I want to go a completely new direction. Where do I start!
Save money.
  -I'm doing better.
Establish a more stable and better relationship with God.
-It's pretty self explanatory and it's very personal. I don't know what to share here yet.
Be more crafty.
-I want to make a lot of my decorations and I am making cards and whatever else I can think of. It's fun!

That's the list as of right now, in no particular order.

A tough Reminder

Quote for this week is "The only people you need in your life are the ones that prove they need you in theirs." -Unknown

I was reminded how true this quote is this week in a hard way. It is never fun to learn that someone you love and trusted doesn't want you in their life. Doesn't deem you worth it. It's no fault of your own but that doesn't make the hurt or reminder any easier. I was also reminded of this quote in a good way this week because I have people around me stepping up and trying to help any way they can because they want me in their life. Hard things always show your true friends.

Plans for everything...Must be exhausting!

A few days ago I mentioned New Years Resolutions or plans for the year 2011. I've had a few days to think about it and I want to make periodic plans for this year. I think a lot of times we get so caught up in life that we really forget to accomplish important things or anything outside of our normal routine. I don't want to get so caught up in the mundane. So here are my resolutions or plans for 2011....

1. Be healthier. In diet and exercise.

2. Be more positive.

3. Read at more non-fiction. (I will try to decide a specific number)

4. Decorate my room more.

5. Expand my lotion making business.

6. Refresh my mind in the basics i.e. math, english, literature.

I think that is a pretty good list to start with. I will post about my progress periodically and hopefully having to do that will keep me motivated. Are you making exhausting plans for 2011?

"Have yourself a very Merry Christmas!!!"
Christmas is my favorite time of year! It's a time to remember Jesus birth. A time to celebrate with family and friends. A time where you can use gifts to express your love and appreciation. I hope your Christmas was full of joy, love, and that all your Christmas wishes came true!

Giving it a shot...finally

So, I have been saying for a few months now that I thought it would be neat to start a blog. Not because I think I have something amazing or profound to say but to try and get some thoughts out and organized? I am trying to find myself. Who I am, was, and who I am going to be.

I don't have a theme for my blog...it's going to be more of a this is just my life or lack of. =) I think it is going to take some time for me to really start posting real blogs but I will start with quotes. You know how I LOVE quotes!!

I don't really have anything else exciting to say right now. My inspiration is very tired and emotionally drained but maybe later. I am getting a few thoughts as I finish typing this up. For those that do take the time to read this thank you for "proving" your part in my life.
